Morning Spaces

Morning spaces
open to sunshine and calm

Creativity ~ a plan to take time for a written word now and sleeping time later

Confidence ~ creative time management in a world where shifting schedules take good care of anyone’s life

“The older you get, the faster time passes in your mind,
so use your time according to what is most important.”
~ A.J.Darkholme,  Rise of the Morningstar

Imaginings

When life throws a curve ~
even a hint that a curve may be approaching ~
dark clouds swirl and build
threat of destruction sends trembles like distant thunder shocking a mind that believes the sun will always shine.

Muddling, shifting and sorting through all the ifs, ands and buts 'til mental exhaustion overtakes,
storm clouds quiet and move off
self-confidence clears the cloudy sky
bird song rises above receding thunderclouds
Belief that indeed the sun does shine is restored.

“There are so many unpleasant things in the world already
that there is no use in imagining any more.”
~ Lucy Maud Montgomery

"Just for Me"

Chicken Cacciatore?
No recipe - but delicious memories
Just tomato sauce from
Last night’s recipe for spaghetti
Lovely chicken thighs from the freezer
And carrots, potatoes, onions…….

In the days of raising kids and a busy life
There would have been little thought
Throw them together and set the table.
Sit down, eat and get on to the next part of life.

In these days of singleness and career
when confidence in creative cooking
sometimes wanes
‘cooking just for me?!’
Taste ‘just for me?!’
comes calling ‘Just for Me.’

“No one who cooks, cooks alone. Even at her most solitary, a cook
in the kitchen is surrounded by generations of cooks past, the advice
and menus of cooks present, the wisdom of cookbook writers.”
~ Laurie Colwin

Spring Blossoms

Spring blossoms ~

Bravely confident that
Winds will not destroy their welcome

“You can cut all the flowers but you can’t
keep spring from coming.”
~ Pablo Neruda

One Last Pass

In Memory: Sally, Dexter and Dyogi ~ my two grand-dogs and their sister that have passed and are sorely missed.

Cool breeze smooths against my cheek
Sun slowly sets across the water
A lone gull catches a faint air current
For one last pass along Dallas Road Dog Park
Confident in the strength of wind and wing

“It’s very beautiful over there. I don’t know where there is,
but I believe it’s somewhere, and I hope it’s beautiful.”
Thomas Edison Guerrero Barbosa

To Decide

To decide
who should stay,
who should go
when safety lies in the balance

To decide
who should go,
who should stay
when more than words tell the tale

To decide
who should stay,
who should go ~
A challenge requiring confidence and collaboration.

“It does not take much strength to do things, but it requires
a great deal of strength to decide what to do.”
~ Elbert Hubbard
