A Simple Act

R
especting the other
arises

from deep within ~
sees past trappings and status
does not hear accent or vocabulary
has no odour or aroma
does not shy away from a simple handshake.

Respect for the other
perceives a member of the human race
a brother or sister, mother or father ~
each grateful for the simple act of respect.

“To be one, to be united is a great thing. But to respect
the right to be different is maybe even greater.”
~ Bono
