Early this morning,
when I walked on my own
the waters were calm
silence gentled the day
save a lone gull riding
a soft current of air while
peace reigned abroad on the land.
For the many that fought, for the
many bodies and spirits that died,
thank you seems little enough
to allow me to walk on my own.
