Fall Approaches

Fall waits behind

cold, wet curtains

of stabbing rain.

Fall approaches with

the sharpened edges

of changing winds.

Fall flowers in

sun warmed hues

of red and gold.

“August rain: the best of the summer gone,

and the new fall not yet born. The odd uneven time.”

~ Sylvia Plath
