City Streets
I walked city streets today.
Alien ~ glassed in buildings tall.
City streets that once I knew.
Familiar brick and mortar gone.
I felt as though I wasn’t home
~ this city strange to me
but a building here, a building there
still standing grounded me
so still I walked those city streets
to remind me of those days gone by
in the city streets of home.
