From My Garden

Four green beans ~
lowly in the stature.
Sheltered by broad leaves.
Cornered and hidden.
Ripened past crispness yet
quietly gathering energy
for new growth in spring.

“We were planting seeds of change, the fruit of which
we might never see. We had to be patient.”
~ Michelle Obama,  Becoming
