Embracing more of life ~
easily dismissed as trivial.
It’s all in the little things -
new ways of changing old habits,
the hobby resting on a back burner,
an old recipe with a bit more spice.
welcome new friends ,
renew old friendships
wander libraries for another book,
when sadness fills your heart
allow tears flow as they will, so
a heart that feels torn will not break
attend plays or movies with friends
with a good visit after to revel
in the acting,
in the plot,
in the story.
going for a walk to find just the right stone.
Embracing more of life could be seen as
climbing the career ladder to success,
but in retirement there is more to be had.
Return to that world of curiosity ~
how will you embrace the life that is before you?
“Life, as I see it, wraps around us, even when
we think we are firmly embracing it.”
~ Fennel Hudson, A Waterside Year: Fennel’s Journal No. 2
