Morning Anticipation

Anticipation to be

To be heard

To be liked

is no longer a worry

I am eager

to tell my story.

To write any story,

poem or just a rant

about the larger things of life,

to watch the ink spill onto the page,

the curls of cursive lettering

becoming words,

then sentences and paragraphs,

shaping scenes out of ideas in my head.

I will not wait

for some great publishing day,

or believe in becoming

a world famous author.

Each morning, I anticipate

the opportunity to write.

“Well,” said Pooh, “what I like best,” and then he had to stop and think

because although Eating Honey was a very good thing to do,

there was a moment just before you began to eat it that was better

than when you were, but he didn’t know what it was called.”

~A.A.Milne, Winnie-the-Pooh
