Tinker Bell Wing Transition

Children’s chattering delight in
clear candy suckers with bugs in the middle,
toys that just looked like fun
transitioned at the speed of a tinker bell wing
at the sight of real live bugs to hold
walking sticks and beetles
spiders and cock roaches
chatter suspended in rapt and eager attention.......

“Children should be encouraged to watch, patiently and quietly, until they
learn something of the habits and history of bee, ant, wasp, spider, hairy
caterpillar, dragon-fly, and whatever of larger growth comes their way.”
~ Charlotte Mason
