in the rising or setting of the sun,
or the beginning or ending a life?
Only through our memories,
family stories shared
in laughter and tears.
Such an evening was set on
the prairie where wheat fields grew,
broad blue sky spanned the horizon.
as family, we were each present
to close one circle and
open it to the next generation.
