to shape and mold,
to stroke a sick child’s brow,
to dig deep into the earth,
to stitch and sew
~ all our hands do each day.
hard working hands roughened with
little scars from cuts, burns and scrapes
show a life lived in circumstance
soften with lotions and age
while they continue their work with life as it is.
