Detachment

Detachment
Like a leaf letting go
of a twig
on a branch
of a tree
from spreading roots

floating down
to a pond
to rest on the surface
to re-compose into silt
to settle or wash away
providing nourishment for roots of trees

that grow and sprout
branches
twigs
leaves

Detaching
with love
with understanding
with acceptance
with curiosity

offers opportunity
for drift
for travel
for growth
for restructuring

For each other.

"As human beings, out greatness lies not so much in
being able to remake the world - that is the myth of the
 - 'atomic age' - as in being able to remake ourselves."
- Gandhi
