Re-setting Theme

There’s a theme to early morning
before traffic begins to hum
chittered and chirped by robins and wrens
when there’s no hint of the day to come.

‘Get up and come to the window
then come outside for a walk...
Start your day with birds and trees
before starting to work on the clock

Should the stuff of the day be rough and noisy
walk again in the evening light
relax in the glow as the sunset ~
and re-set the theme for the day.

“You have peace,” the old woman said, “when you make it with yourself.”
~ Mitch Albom,  The Five People You Meet in Heaven
