On an Afternoon Walk ~ A Presence

Science can tell us why

leaves change colour in the fall

low light

cooler temperatures

chlorophyll production down

low moisture

boring......

but factual

My heart tells me that

green to orange is magical

and full of knowing that 

nature’s cycle is a presence

On a Park Stroll ~ Not Big Enough

What was it that attracted me to this rock not big enough to be a boulder? 

nestled in the bush, 

crumbled leaves clustered close, 

yellowed leaves draping its sloping top ~ hoping it would be noticed by passersby?

This passerby’s gaze fell on the white lines that traced a natural history now lost in time……

On a Park Stroll ~ Watchers

Before me I watched 

soothing autumn colours

and gently rippled water

while

my shadow watched

behind me to see

calm waters and reflections in

the shadow of the bridge.
