Patios sweltered under
stifling heat that settled
under leafy trees
ruffled by breezes
cooled by the lake
ruffled by speed boats
bare feet hopped
into refreshing water.
Writing daily about my journeys through books, movies and plays along with poetry, story, or an occasional wander into ideas, opinions or rants.
Patios sweltered under
stifling heat that settled
under leafy trees
ruffled by breezes
cooled by the lake
ruffled by speed boats
bare feet hopped
into refreshing water.
Boxes packed and taped
Family and movers on time and ready
Thermometer climbed….
and climbed…..
Filling the fridge with
groceries from the other fridge.
Picking through labeled boxes
for sheets, plates, cutlery……
Mr. Jet pacing and sniffing out
every corner and window ~ approved
Next step ~ creating home
out of cardboard boxes.

you find light when all grows dark.”

Thoughts and intention
slipped by without notice
story time on Wednesdays
vanished without notice
until early this morning when
the fog cleared ~ without notice.
“What one does is what counts.
Not what one had the intention doing.”
~ Pablo Picasso
Diaphanous as fine silk,
feeling the passage of
time ~ impossible ~
even the ticking of a clock
vanishes in its delicate wake.
just one more minute
one more stitch
one more chapter
one more………….
“I blinked my eyes
and in an instant
decades had passed.”
~ John Mark Green, Taste the Wild Wonder: Poems
In a friend’s garden
a delicate spider
posed in the shade
resting
til my camera clicked.
“To sit in the shade on a fine day and look
upon verdure is the most perfect refreshment.”
~ Jane Austen
ready to blow away
in the slightest breeze
I need to see flowers
growing tall in sun,
wind, rain or cold ~
proof that my words
will grow again
when it is time.
“When I cannot see words curling like rings of smoke
round me I am in darkness ~ I am nothing.”
~ Virginia Woolf, The Waves
“I didn't think she could see me. She did leave the gate open. I thought it was for me and it really was time to get on top of it all. You know, keep an eye on her. Things keep disappearing ~ as long as it's not my food.”
“I don’t know if cats understand what their owners say,
but they do have a strong survival instinct.”
~ Manel Loureiro, Apocalipsis Z: Los Dias Oscuro
