Heartfelt ~ 1

Communication between hearts
in glances and looks
flitting between long held beliefs
dodging past societies’ norms
skipping over rigid legalese
edging forward
soul searching out
brushing aside logic and reason
finding a tiny chink in cultural armour
stilted words uttered only to be appropriately polite
scripted conversation from the mind
mouthing lines with out knowing the real play

“Sometimes the heart sees what is invisible to the eye.”
~ H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

Chaos Simplified

Communication with my own life these days has been
interesting and occasionally a bit confusing

Routine established and practiced over weeks and months
crumbled and vanished with rolling changes
hours of work and schedule
vacation and fun
home and hearth

not that these things have not occurred before
each time the same shifting of things and time frames
creates curiosity and opportunity
amidst of what is so terribly chaotic.

In the instant that OVERWHELMED is realized:
Inner tension bubbling audibly
Slow......stop.....listen...listen..
Organize next steps only.
Absolutes only considered.

Warm comfy attire a must
Hot cup of coffee - or tea
Good book
Rocking chair

p.s.
if this is what is considered chaos
easy solutions found with each step
life details still blurry, but seamless
another dance step learned on a curve
Life is Pretty Darn Good.

“When I think of how many people in this world have it worse
than I do, I realize just how blessed I really am....
and I have to give thanks......”

Secrets in the Open

Communication through anonymity is difficult.
Talk, talk, talking the talk becomes wah, wah, wah...
Anonymity silently walks the walk with little talking.

Communication through anonymity is a challenge.
Practicing principles above personalities takes lots of practice
Anonymity humbly accepts many tests of tolerance.

Communication through anonymity builds a new bridge,
gently spanning deep chasms of stigma and heartache.
Anonymity allows wounds to be joyously healed in good company.

“The truth is more important than it’s teller.”

Daring to Survive

Tomatoes on thickened vines
tucked, drooping, toward moist earth, hesitating to ripen red their sweet tomato taste; shy flowers bloom bravely daring frosty nights.

Fall's damp cool, permits short broad strokes of late sun. Plants reply to weathered change, slowing growth to survive long after golden sun has lowered.

“Life is either a daring adventure or nothing.”
Hellen Keller

Incommunicado

Eyes closed.
Lights off.
No one home.
Don’t tell.

Heart sore and raw.
Scarred from sound and fury.
Peering from heavy cover.
Seeking safety in a tight circle.

Mind unreliable and afraid.
Wary steps into bright life.
Fear greater than any assault.
Unknown enemies surely lie in wait.

Spirit shrunken, a cooling, smoking ember.
Needing oxygen to fan weak flames.
Thawing frozen, brittle insides.
Slowly, slowly warming to family and friends.

Eyes open slowly.
Lights flicker.
Someone might be home.
Communication hesitates, haltingly a story is told.

“Let tears flow of their own accord: their flowing is
not inconsistent with inward peace and harmony.”
~ Seneca

Silence Transformed

Communication with emptiness
~ silent as a prairie sunset
dripping eaves full of rain
muted birdsong in a mist
tiptoes into self
whispers to soul
calming ripples of stillness.

“Silence is not an absence of sound but rather
a shifting of attention toward sounds that speak to the soul.”
~ Thomas Moore
