steady, forceful
but not in a hurry.
On the open prairies such a wind would sweep
steady, forceful
and sure of it’s destination
In Victoria, faced with street corners, buildings and trees
the wind is a trickster
wrapping, weaving and dancing with no destination.
Whether full of certainty or the dance
I have faith that wind will fill my soul,
caress my cheeks and comb my hair.
“I will walk by myself
and cure myself
in the sunshine and the wind.”
~ Charles Reznikoff,
The Poems of Charles Reznikoff
1918 - 1975
