I’m waiting for sunflowers ~
bright spots in back alleys,
placed perfectly on manicured lawns,
guarding gardens or
in brilliant rows in fields ~
nodding ‘Hi!’ with cheerful smiles
when the snowmen and spring flowers
have each passed their season.
