Lace and Rhododendrons

On a walk this afternoon I stopped

to take in the frosted lace all around me

and longed for warmer climes. Browning mush of snow at my feet slowed my steps at curb sides and walkways and I longed for dusty sidewalks. But just to know that family and old friends are close ~ I wouldn’t trade lovely frosted lace for this beautiful rhododendron peeking in on me and I am grateful.

“Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not; remember

that what you now have was once among the things you only hoped for.”
