From A Rock Wall to the Universe

There was a poem in the morning

as I stretched into yoga on the patio
the sun coming over the fence
shining on the stone wall.

Glistening shimmering spider webbing
crisscrossed from stone to stone to stone
as if to add support to the mortar between the rocks.

There was a theme in my mind this morningIt has faded as the sun has gone down drifting away with the wind at the end of the day while gossamer strands of webbing hold fast.

And yet, those gossamer spidery webs crisscrossing space
between rocks make me think of the great web of
planetary orbits surrounding our own tiny planet,
holding us in place in the vast universe.

“Humankind has not woven the web of life. We are but one
thread within it. Whatever we do to the web,  we do to ourselves.
All things are bound together. All things connect.”
